Private Felting Course : Make A Wet-felted Cobweb Felt Scarf

Learn to make a cobweb felt scarf in a private session with Gillian :-)

Gillian will teach you the art of wet-felting cobweb felt scarves made from diaphanous fine merino wool tops. Once made, felt scarves are lightweight, yet surprisingly warm and snuggly. {Warning : making felt scarves becomes addictive and you might end up wanting to make one for everyone you know!}

We have merino wool tops in over 70 different colours, plus other fibres of textural interest to trap into the wool fibres, so there is plenty of scope in terms of colour and design. We can also provide plenty of inspiration for your design too! :-)

Maximum students for Cobweb Felt Scarves is 2 people due to the amount of table space required. 

Cost :

This 6 hour private session costs £300 for one person or £350 for 2 people

Who will be teaching me?

You will be taught by Gillian Harris : author of "Complete Feltmaking"; Carnival of Felting";  "Felting Fabulous Flowers" and "Easy Stuff to Make with Fluff" and owner of The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium.

Who is it suitable for?

Everyone! If you are a complete beginner that's fine, or if you are more accomplished and just want to try your hand at cobweb felting that's also fine. Adults and children over 11 only please.

Where are your Private Felting Tuition Sessions Held?

Private Felting workshops are held 'in person' in our studio  at The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium in Betchworth, Surrey UK. (There's a map at the foot of our home page!)

Dates and times available :

Cobweb Felting a scarf takes a while, plus we make a sample first, so this private session is 6 hours long from 10am - 4pm. We will stop for lunch for 30-40 minutes.

Private sessions are usually held on a weekday during the day - or sometimes can be arranged further in advance at weekends. Although our studio gets far more booked up at weekends.

We will endeavour to find a mutually agreeable date and time asap. If we can't then we will offer you a refund. Once booked - our regular Ts and Cs apply and it's not possible to cancel within 30 days of the mutually agreed date. We will send you confirmation of this date.

What's included :

All cobweb scarf wool tops and course notes are provided, plus felting equipment to use on the day. Also drinks, biscuits and terribly British afternoon tea and cake.

You will also be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your Felting Course!

Please note : By booking one of our courses you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions, which are as follows:

Booking a place on one of our courses is similar to booking a seat at the theatre. It is not possible to swap and cancel and the "the show must go on". Therefore should you need to cancel your place on a course for any reason, the cancellation charges are as follows: Cancellation within 28+ days of course date = 50% of course fee payable unless place is re filled. Cancellation within 0 27 days of course date = 100% of course fee payable unless place is re filled. Sometimes courses are over subscribed so we hold a waiting list and MAY be able to re fill a place, but if you are unable to attend you are welcome to send someone in your place. Please let us know your replacement's name, phone number and email address as soon as possible before the course date.
