3 hour Private Hand Carding and E-Spinner Experience : you've watched the YouTube videos and you're ITCHING to have a go at spinning your own yarn, but you're not sure whether you're ready to invest £1000 in a drum carder and an E-spinner? Come for our INCREDIBLY FUN 3 hour session and leave with 100g of your own hand spun yarn that you've spun from a batt made on our wide drum carder using alllllllll the colours you've ever dreamed of!

We've over 70 different colours of Merino wool tops to choose from, and Angelina glitter fibres, recycled sari silks and other fibres too. The world is literally your hand spun yarn oyster!!! ;-) xx

Who will be teaching me?

You will be taught by the wonderful Jackie Harman or Gillian Harris. We will show you how inspirational and fun it is to hand card your wool to make a fabulous colourful 'batt' from which to spin your 'lil ball of yarn!  Our Ashford E-Spinner is very easy to use once you get the hang of it, and we will calmly guide you through the process and help you spin your batt into a fabulous skein of yarn! :-) xx

Who is it suitable for?

Everyone! This 3 hour private Carding & Spinning workshop experience session is suitable for anyone (age over 14) and it doesn't matter if you're a complete beginner! :-) 

Where are your Private Tuition Sessions Held?

Our private Hand Drum Carder & E-Spinning Experiences are held 'in person' in our colourful studio next to the shop at The Gilliangladrag Fluff-a-torium in Betchworth, Surrey UK. (There's a map at the foot of our home page!)

Is there a Virtual Digital Version available online?

If you have your own Drum Carder and E-Spinner we can organise this! But not otherwise. Contact us!

Dates and times

3 hour sessions are usually held on a Monday or Friday during the day, but we can sometimes arrange another time if this doesn't suit you.

We will endeavour to find a mutually agreeable date and time asap. If we can't then we will offer you a refund. Once booked - our regular Ts and Cs apply and it's not possible to cancel within 30 days of the mutually agreed date. We will send you confirmation of this date.

What if there's 2 of us that would like to learn together. Is it the same price?

There is only time to card and spin 1 x 100g skein of yarn in this session, but it's fine if 2 of you want to come together and share this experience and do 50g each. We just charge an extra 25% to cover costs.

How much does it cost?

This 3 hour private Hand Drum Carder & E-Spinning Experience costs £130. This is inclusive of VAT and includes all materials.

What's included?

The session includes 3 hours of one-on-one tuition with us, - using our Wide Drum Carder and E-Spinner. it also includes 100g of wooltops and other fibres that you might want to include too. You can choose ANY colours! We will also supply you with drinks & biscuits etc. PLUS you would also then be entitled to 10% discount in our shop "The Fluff-a-torium" on the day of your private Hand Drum Carder & E-Spinning Experience / session!
